Through the Permobil Employee Assistance Fund, our colleagues are united in times of crisis. If you are a Permobil Americas employee and are experiencing economic hardship due to a natural disaster, life-threatening illness, or catastrophic circumstance.

What is the Employee Assistance Fund (EAF)?

The Permobil EAF helps employees who are experiencing economic hardship and are unable to afford housing, utilities, and other basic living needs due to a natural disaster, life-threatening illness or injury, death, or other catastrophic circumstances beyond their control.

Who can apply for assistance?

All Permobil employees who meet the following criteria are eligible to apply:

  • Currently employed by Permobil
  • In good standing with Permobil
  • Past the 90-day introductory probationary period

Temporary employees are not eligible. Assistance can only be approved once per 12-month period.

Donate to the EAF:

What types of situations qualify?
  • Natural Disaster: Damage or destruction of the employee's primary residence due to events like wildfire, flood, tornado, hurricane, or earthquake.
  • Life-Threatening or Serious Illness or Injury: Medical conditions that result in financial hardship.
  • Catastrophic or Extreme Circumstances: Events such as fire, major home damage (not caused by a natural disaster), serious crimes, or declared disasters.
How does the process work?

Employees submit requests directly to the Permobil Foundation, which works with applicants to complete the process.

How long does it take for approval?

Applicants should receive a response within 10 business days after submitting all required documentation.

What expenses can be paid through the program?
  • Rent, mortgage, or other housing payments
  • Temporary housing and security deposits
  • Essential utility bills (electricity, heat, water)
  • Medical expenses related to the incident
  • Minor home repairs needed for safety and livability
What expenses CANNOT be paid?
  • Insurance premiums or deductibles
  • Cable, phone, or internet service
  • Car payments, repairs, or car insurance
  • Furniture, appliances, electronics
  • Funeral expenses
  • Legal fees, fines, or court costs
How is the Permobil EAF funded?

The EAF is primarily funded by donations from Permobil employees, along with contributions from Permobil Inc. and the Permobil Foundation.
